Schwagstock is back!

We couldn't be more excited to be included in the triumphant return of Schwagstock 46. Although the memories are sketchy, we're pretty sure the first Schwagstock we played was Schwagstock 4. In true Hooch fashion, our set started at midnight and ended somewhere around 4am. This time we'll be onstage during (gasp) daylight, 5:30-7. Join us, will you? September 11-12, Leasburg MO. Visit the Schwag's Facebook event page for all the goodies.

A free show at our favorite brewery!

Join Madahoochi Friday December 3rd at the Schlafly Bottleworks, home of delicious Schlafly Coffee Stout!  It's free and all ages!
While we're all in town, we'll also be in the studio working on our next four song EP.  It will contain some of our newest, most favorite tunes:  The Crazier Life Is, Boom, Apathy, and You're Right.  Nate Hershey of Phat Buddha Productions is once again our engineer;  we're very excited, and hope you are too!

Farewell, for now

Scott and Shawn are moving to Florida!  Come join us for a Farewell show at the Koken Art Factory on Saturday, July 3rd.  9:30 start time, all Madahoochi, all night!
This doesn't mean the end of the Hooch however...there will be St. Louis shows every 6-8 weeks, and we're still writing and recording new songs.  Stay tuned for the second installment of our 3-EP series to be released (online only) at the end of the summer.  It contains The Crazier Life Is, Apathy, You're Right, and Boom.
The next time we'll be back in town will be Friday Aug 13th for a show with Vitamen A at the St Louis Skatium.  That's right, folks, you can listen to Madahoochi and Vitamen A, drink beer, and ROLLER SKATE at the same time!  Come dressed in some sort of costume to get entered to win fabulous prizes!!  We'll even bust out some 'couples skating' songs!
Take care and we'll see you soon!

"Square One" EP Release Party @ the Rock House Oct 3rd

Guess what?  We're having a CD release party!  Except that we're not releasing physical CDs this time...if ya want the songs you'll have to download them online.  There are several different options:  our favorite is if you purchase a download card from us at the show...all of the money goes directly to madahoochi, and you get a choice of download formats....mp3, wav, flac, avi....your choice!  Groovy!  You can also bring a flash drive with you and we'll load up nice high quality song files directly onto it.  Or, you can just download good ole mp3s onto your home computer.  We are really proud of these songs and hope you dig them too!  Our master engineer/producer, Nate Hershey (of the Dogtown Allstars) did a bang up job at Phat Buddha studios.  We can't wait to get back into the studio and start recording more tunes....especially my favorite new song, The Crazier Life Is.  I'll let you in on a secret...download our songs...tell your pals about our new EP...tell them to download it...and we'll be able to start recording stat!
Make sure to come early to the release show so you don't miss HEATBOX, who is one of my favorite artists.  He is completely captivating, and all he comes with is himself, his voice, a vocal processor, and a loop machine.  It's amazing!  He will be your new favorite artist too!  He's also releasing his new CD, "System", which includes a groovy ninja video game he programmed himself.
Jaik Willis from Chicago also will play some acoustic funk.  Show starts at 9pm, and costs $5.  21+

It's been a while since we've updated the news section, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any news! First off, we've been invited back to the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival for the third year in a row! This is our favorite summer festival and we're stoked to be back! Go to http://10klf.com to get your tickets!

On Saturday May 12th, Madahoochi is proud to join one of our oldest and dearest group of friends, BOCKMAN, as they release their third CD at THE PAGEANT THEATRE in St. Louis. We will be joined by the Amsterband and Joe Stickley's BluePrint for a fabulous night of music. The show starts early at 8pm, with a 9pm Hoochi set. You can pick up free tickets for the show at TnT Designs, located right next to The Pageant on Delmar. Or you can just pay the five bucks and support four outstanding midwestern bands! Be sure to pick up a copy of BOCKMAN's new CD, Chasing Dragons, too. You will not be sorry.

Madahoochi also continues to be the backing band for Spookie Daly Pride while Spookie is living in St. Louis. You can catch a Spookie Hoochi show on the last Saturday of every month at Cicero's in St. Louis. We'll be working up a bunch of new tunes from Marshmallow Pie and Medicine Chest for the May show, and maybe even a COMPLETELY UNRELEASED SPOOKIE DALY PRIDE SONG!

In addition to 10,000 Lakes, Madahoochi will be appearing at other festivals this summer, including DOGSTOCK (the sleeper hit of the summer folks, don't miss this!), LEGFEST, TOCO, BEARCAT FESTIVAAAAL, and SCHWAGSTOCK (tba on which one). Check out our myspace page for the latest on our show dates!

You may have noticed that we have been playing a lot of Madacoustic gigs lately. At the present time, Madacoustic consists of Scott, Shawn, and Joe, with special guests Adam Rugo (Nuclear Percussion Ensemble) and Jim Hieger (Salt of the Earth) joining in from time to time. Madacoustic shows are great chances to see some re-vamped Hoochi songs, as well as all of our favorite covers that we don't get to play with the full electric band. And occasionally we throw in acoustic versions of Run Like Hell and Billie Jean. Just because. Madacoustic appears every first Thursday of the month at Pop's Blue Moon, as well as all over town...just check our show dates.

Live in the Loop is now available on iTunes for your downloading convenience. You can own our newest disc in five minutes without even leaving your seat.

Finally, don't forget that the COOLEST PARTY IN TOWN takes place EVERY MONDAY NIGHT at Cicero's in St. Louis, MO.
Fri, Jan 19th, 2007 3:09 PM PST

Check out the new disc, available in "classic" CD format (complete with jewel case and cover art!) delivered to your door by the good folks at cdBaby, and in mp3 format, available as an instant download from our myspace page.

In other news, Madahoochi Mondays at Cicero's resume February 5th. Most monday shows will be 'all madahoochi, all night'; but look for some cool special guests to swing through....such as 56 Hope Road in Feb and SugarFree Allstars in March...

In the meantime, get your hooch fix at one of several Madacoustic shows...Scott & Shawn acoustic, featuring Adam Rugo (Nuclear Percussion Ensemble) and Jim Hieger (Salt of the Earth).

Thanks to everyone who made our 10th Anniversary show at The Pageant such a huge success! We owe it all to the best fans on the planet...ya'll. Almost 1700 folks showed up before they had to start turning people away...look for the DVD of the show to pop out sometime this spring or early summer.

So in case you missed it we have a brand new CD...."Live in the Loop" recorded live in Oct 06 at Cicero's in St. Louis....look for it soon online and in area stores...but for now you'll have to get to our show to get it....it's hot hot hot!

This Monday at Cicero's we're pleased to be switching places and will be opening the show for THE CODETALKERS (formerly of Col. Bruce Hampton fame). Come out early to watch the Hooch and stay late to check out one of the finest national touring bands around....
Fri, Oct 13th, 2006 11:47 PM PDT

Yo everyone. We're heading up to where it's snowing to play some rock shows for the kind people up north. Think of us everytime you get a little chilly. In other news, the recording of our live CD is finished and the project is moving into the mixing stage. It's titled "Live in the Loop" and will be released at our 10th Anniversary show, which will take place either the first or second weekend in December at a really really cool venue. Sorry to be so vague folks, but we're still waiting for the official word...check back in a couple of weeks for an official announcement...
Sun, Jul 23rd, 2006 2:13 PM PDT

Two DON'T MISS Mondays in a row!

12.2.04 Last Monday The Tiffany Christopher band wowed the audience at Cicero's, and this Monday, 12/6, The Greyhounds will do the same. The Greyhounds, a power trio of keys, drums, and guitar, hail from Texas and tour constantly. Don't miss this show!!

Thanks to all the super folks out in KC, Columbia and Little Rock! The Midtown was a blast, of course, and we have many stories which can't be posted on this site! ;) Our first club gig with Speakeasy rocked!! And we're looking forward to seeing everyone in Louisville again after over a year.

Madahoochi named "Best Jam Band" in the RIVERFRONT TIMES!

Check out the RFT's Best of St. Louis this week and see Madahoochi as St. Louis' Best Jam Band!

Schwagstock 24 was one huge freak fest! Once again, Madahoochi played till dawn, and once again, Madahoochi got yelled at by someone for playing till dawn. Never fear, though, Jimmy and The Schwag love the overnights and promise that the stage is ours 'til we fall over. Awesome sets were played by Michael Kelsey, Speakeasy, The Helping Phriendly Band, Green Mountain Grass, Ripple Effect, and The Schwag. (And Pepperland, too! ;) The Schwag's new land at Camp Zoe is beautiful, so make sure you check out the Schwagstocks next year.

Also, thanks to all the folks who've jammed out with us in Springfield, Stillwater, and Kansas City! You rock and we can't wait to visit again!

In other news, Madahoochi has finished recording rough cuts of the new CD and will be back in the studio in the coming weeks to begin the final recording.
